ABOUT US:
Thanks for your interest in Boulder Assets!
Boulder Assets was born in 2014 from one CU student's thesis. The idea to bring university and elementary students together over play came to Eric Silberstein from learning about sports for development. Since its official establishment, Boulder Assets has been blessed with dedicated volunteers who have surpassed Eric's highest expectations. We have also successfully expanded our volunteerwork from recess only to helping in classrooms as well! "Kids helping kids" is our motto at Boulder Assets. We're a University of Colorado, Boulder independent student group harnessing the power of play to impact the Boulder community. While often dismissed as "just fun", play is the vital activity that children use to learn about and interact with their world, and gain the mental, physical and social skills necessary to succeed in their adult lives. The elementary students are not the only assets we're developing. As an organization, our goal is to inspire Boulder's youth to become assets in their own communities. Inspiring Boulder Assets volunteers is just as important to us. Beyond the group training, leadership development, and community building, our volunteers learn and grow through the rich experience that is service. |
